Gadget blog speaks HinglishHumor

A popular gadget blog starts a post with ‘Jaan pehchaan ho!’ That’s Hindi for ‘recognize!’ If I were drinking a pint of old-skool chocolate milk, it would be spraying out my nose right now. Thank you, Engadget blogger Phillip Torrone.

Update: As Chaitanya points out in the comments, it may be a reference to a bouncy Mohammed Rafi tune from Gumnaam (Anonymous) which was featured in Ghost World:

I guess they are referring to song 'Jaan Pehchaan Ho' from the hindi movie Gumnaam. This racy number featured in the opening scene of the 2000 indie hit 'Ghost World'.

Dude.. aankh churana means hiding oneself. Precise literal translation is no good in many such cases.

Wouldn't the correct translation of this be:
     
All you heart-stealers,
don’t steal my eyes too

since aankh means eyes?

or is it just me?

Aankh Churana as a phrase means avoiding eye contact. In this song's context it would translate as please dont avoid my glances or please look at me....
