A quick shout-out for Bay Area / Cali mutineers - the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival starts tomorrow, Thursday, Mar 10 and extends until Mar 20.

Swades - the Bollywood blockbuster
Continuous Journey - the story of the first Sikh immigrants to Canada on the eve of WWI
Yasmin - a story about a Pakistani-Brit who feels the reverb from 9/11 in her otherwise Western lifestyle
3rd I's South Asian International Shorts - A collection of short films from across the Desi Diaspora
MIA's Galang is one of the entries in the Asian Music Video collection

I'll be representin' SM with a crew of friends who are coming up from LA. The socializing promises to continue late into the evening ;-)

wish I could be there. But Vinod, please share tips on good films / filmmakers for us over here in DC to invite to SALTAF in October!

And who's going to SAJA Author's Night in NYC this coming weekend? Let me know; I'd love to meet you and harass you in person.
