This one’s for all the Wikipedia fans in the house (here’s lookin’ at you, Anna): they have a seven-month-old topic on Indian-Americans and a two-month-old one on Pakistani-Americans.
The topics aren’t all that fleshed out yet, and some of the sections have glaring misspellings and errors. You can click the edit link to correct anything, so head on over and edit away. I love that I can immediately fix whatever’s broken in a wiki. That instant gratification is bloggity goodness.
Strangely enough, they also have a topic on this blog. Be gentle — it’s our first time ;)

Perhaps our community is too young, but there's no mention of any south asian american or indian american history on the asian american page. Currently, only chinese and japanese american history have links. I'd be more curious to read about the history of our community than have a destined-to-be-outdated contemporary entry.

As a wiki regular, I've decided to spruce up the Asian American page with a new Indian American history category adjacent to the Chinese American history and Japanese American history links. To avoid leaving the IA history page in an appallingly spartan state, I've seeded it with the 1923 Supreme Court case United States v. Bhagat Singh Thind

i was wondering how long it would take you to find it. :)
I'm glad people took notice. I made the current outline structure for the Indian American article a few months ago (the article was 1 paragraph before), but left the sections blank. I hoped people would fill in some good info, but so far it has ended up a sad state. (i.e. When I included "Media Portrayal" as a section stub, I had no idea it would end up w/ a Dilbert comic.) People ... go edit!! =]
There's also a Desi article.Someone had marked it with a vote for deletion tag, as it was basically a dictionary definition, so I quickly rewrote it. But it still could use some work.
I'd be more curious to read about the history of our community than have a destined-to-be-outdated contemporary entry.

Oh, and not that it matters, but the Indian American article is actully 1 year old.... content was copied over from "Indian-American" and a redirect placed. Here is the older history of the article.
Having created wikis for other topics, I am aware of this. Yet, I want more info on this entry before I erase it from the annals of wiki history. Is it supposed to be offensive or just a phenom of which I haven't heard?

gc, I don't think there were any hate crimes in 1907 especially since there was statutory hate as lobbied by the Asiatic Exclusion League. So, rather than hate crimes, there were "hate samaritans", helping enforce govt. laws prohibiting interracial marriage, prohibiting ownership or leasing of land, prohibiting immigration and naturalization, and upholding segregation. Several marriage clerks proudly did their civic duty and prevented hispanics and Indians from marrying[1]. Unfortunately, a few rogue, unpatriotic clerks violated state and federal laws by granting marriage licenses.
