Tonight on CNN: Doctor Sanjay Gupta on refugee health concerns, Christiane Amanpour on poverty and famine, Jeff Koinange on refugee camps, and, uh, this:

“We don’t know which — which country. But we’re looking at different countries. And we’re — I’m just— it’s gonna be the balance of what would be the best for Mad and for Z right now. It’s, you know, another boy, another girl, which country, which race would fit best with the kids,” she said, referring to her adopted children.

The Jolie interview will air Tuesday as part of CNN’s entire day of programming devoted to World Refugee Day.

Hmmm… The tsunami is so 2004, and those earthquake villages are kind of hard to reach. Still, can’t you imagine a darling little wheatish tyke amid the United Colors of Brangelina? We can always dream.

It's hard to tell the context. It sounds terrible when you first read it. But I'm sure with a new "natural" Brangelina addition to the clan and two children from two completely different races this is something they consciously have to think about. Hey if Woody and Mia could manage it, they certainly can. Of course I hope for his sake Brad doesn't marry one of his adopted children!

Uh yeah on Woody Allen-related thoughts...

if Brad ends up leaving Ange for Zahara/new Indian Zahara then I think the entire world owes Jen one big apology for ever doubting that she didn't want kids and caused the split. Ange is a UN ambassador hottie but still, poor Jen, all she's got is B-grade movies and that pale and pasty Vince Vaugh.

Forget the children already, will somebody please think of Jen?

I second that. :-) She is also doing well with several movies, some very good indie ones under her belt.

You mean the painful Jennifer "I-play-the-same-neurotic-Rachel-character-in-every-film-for-lots-of-money" Aniston ? Glad to see that Brad dumped her ;-)

Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn are a wonderful match; they both play the same character in every project they do. One trick ponies breeding more little one trick ponies.

I didn't see "Rachel" at ALL in The Good Girl. There was nothing cute or bubbly about THAT movie; I liked it.

Glad to see that Brad dumped her ;-)

Usually when people say that it's because they wanted him for themselves. ;)

As much as I hate to admit it, Shiloh's place among Brangelina's Model UN family is going to be kind of interesting to watch as it evolves.

I'm still holding out hope for the Zahara Jolie-Pitt tell-all book. Even at her age, she seems to have a little sass to her.

aloha!

i thought i'd post this here... it being World Refugee Day and angelina being with UNHCR (UN high commissioner for refugees) and all.
please go to this website... http://www.usaforunhcr.org/?code=P020
for even more info... http://www.un.org/depts/dhl/refugee

please donate or volunteer or inform people, whatever you can do to help!

during the gulf war in 1990, my family and i fled kuwait via refugee camps through iraq and jordan to get on a flight to bombay. i will always distinctly remember the red cross workers, the line-ups to get pita bread, cucumber and tomatoes... the day long lines to get water and the totally disgusting holes in the ground called bathrooms. and to think that these were actually 5-star refugee camps...

my point... please do something! IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

thank you.

I actually predict a South/Central American adoptee for Brangelina -- the Asian, African, and WASP quotas are already taken in their family. They're missing a Latino.

Angelina.

Angelina.

Angelina.

Just keep saying it.....

What a name. What a woman. If only Jai + Angelina = Jangelina.

Angelina is a superb example of a woman who is sexy because of her personality as well as her looks. It ain't just about having a pretty face, y'know, despite what TMBWITW may think.

Angelina.....Angelina.....

Did any of you know that Shiloh is the name of a brand that makes incontinence products here in the UK? Every time I hear the name of their baby, I think of piss.

Uh...wasn't it her ex-husband Billy Bob who said that having sex with her was like f-ing the couch?

And now that I have typed the words "Billy Bob", "sex" and "couch" I am somehow very sad, that this is what my mutinous life has come to. ;)

Not my orientation anyway... perhaps some other people here might want him if he takes a shower (or maybe they prefer him all natural ?). Angelina on the other hand is definitely has the right gender and haven't heard anything bad about her hygiene... ;-)

Heh heh. Very sad indeed. Next stop: Sepia goes "full bore tabloid" to compete with Rita Cosby by liveblogging from the Moonlite Bunny Ranch in Carson City, Nevada. Because that's what "people want to see." Don't worry, ANNA and Siddhartha, it's the readers who are making you do it. Just like TV news, you can't help yourself -- you're just giving humanity what it wants.

Right?

;)

Sigh. Still, you human journos are no match for D'Anna Biers when it comes to going tabloid.

Number Six,

I wonder who's a badder girl, BSG's Number Six or Angelina ?

Angelina's allegedly a very bad girl indeed, but then Six has that whole multi-planet genocide thing going on.

And I hope you really are a six-foot blonde bombshell and aren't leading the boys of SM on a wild caboose chase.

Puliogre in da USA,

Yeah! Its not just about a pretty face!!! SHE HAS A ROCKIN BOD AS WELL!!! And, shes crazy, which means shes probably a demon in the sack!

I wasn't just talking about the physical aspects -- that woman just exudes "knowing" foxiness.

"Femme Fatale 101", SM ladies -- take notes. Okay, not too many notes, you don't want to scare the hell out of everyone (considering Angelina's ability to reduce grown men to gibbering wrecks who would be putty in her hands).

 33 · Janeofalltrades on June 20, 2006 03:50 PM · Direct link · “Quote”(?)

OK break it up....all this lustfest about Angelina. Forget that she's hot...she gives her time and energy to so many causes in the world, has no issues getting down and dirty and local and lives her life on her own terms and makes no excuses for it. She adopted children before she had her own and does put boundries around herself. Nothing is more foxy then that. A bod can be had, a face can be bought but giving is something that comes from within.

Great find! Here's part of what I posted (linked back to you of course) on my blog, Mixed Media Watch:

The last time I posted something critical about Jolie and adoption, a lot of people jumped to her defense, with the usual "would you rather have them die in an orphanage?" comebacks.

Um no, of course not. But that doesn't mean I don't have a right to question whether it's okay to talk about adopting a child like it's a matter of picking what curtains go with your pillows ("It's, you know, another boy, another girl, which country, which race would fit best with the kids.")

At least Jolie doesn't pretend that race doesn't exist, as Tom Cruise clearly did when he did his crazy couch-jumping on Oprah. However, reducing the race, ethnicity, identity, nationality, birthcountry, of a living, breathing, human being, to some kind of commodity is pretty disturbing to me too.

well, in regards to me all those assertions are fallacious (i.e., i don't desire to be inclusive, class conscious, am relatively undereducated and my "high school" self isn't "long lost").
