Bollywood FuglyFilm

white.jpg

A very happy one-week anniversary to “Ugly, Ugly, Bollywood Fugly,” a brand-new and already fabulous blog that aims to chronicle and record for posterity the more egregious cosmetic and sartorial effects of Bollywood film. But of course it’s fabulous: Sepia friends DesiDancer, t-HYPE, and Filmiholic are all involved! Just one week and it’s already a treasure trove of gems like the one above. With material like that, there’s nothing else to say… except for the fantastic captions that our fearless hunters-of-ugly have composed. Welcome!

I've come to the conclusion that the mutiny this web site is aiming for will not come about via the political and cultural discussion it tries to generate. Rather, it will topple existing institutions by merely destroying the productivity of its readers. That said, this sight is just too funny.

Just thinking about the Nach Balliye visuals gives me nightmares - Kajra Re is better on the eyes =)

Great site!

As one of the site's contributors, I am pleased as punch (paanch?) to be mentioned on SM (shy long-time reader, first-time poster). The trouble with posting about Bollywood fugly is it's hard to know where to stop. I could do it all day.

Please do! If you stop before the ugliness does ... ummm ... then the terrorists will have won!

Siddhartha, how'd you get so smart?!

Next time somebody asks what I do, I'm going to answer "chronicle and record for posterity the more egregious cosmetic and sartorial effects of Bollywood film." That'll shut 'em up!

""Look, I'm not responsible for this mess, I just read my lines and give dishoom!""

Awesome.

Wow. Excellent! Here's a contribution for you -- filum stars? or Mumbai metamorphosis?.....

Kajra Re is better on the eyes.

But have you seen Ash's hair in that song? "Conditioner!" I wanted to scream at the screen.

pied piper, that is indeed truly awful. However, we limited ourselves to things done by costume designers on film, not celebrities in the wild. There's only so much even a team of dedicated reporters can do. She looks about 80 in that photo. So bad.

And Pooja, I couldn't agree more. Crispy-fried city.

one line comes to mind

"I am a disco dancer."

hilarious site.

oh, okay. but i guess you've got plenty of material to keep you busy as it is....

(celebrities in the wild. love it.)

As a silent and humble reader of such lofty blogs as Sepia Mutiny, may I just say:

"We're not worthy! We're not worthy!"

So kind of you to mention our fugly efforts!

Oh My God! What a brilliant blog!

thanks for the love, brown people :) Like Beth said, there's just so much BollyFugg...it's a daunting task to even consider where to begin. But nobody is safe from our watchful eyes and scathing analyses.

Incidentally, wordsmith diva Pooja is also a member of the Bollywood Fashion Police.

I was wondering when the phorin bollyholics would finally put something like that together seeing as there were ongoing mentions about such things in their blogs. DesiDancer, T-hype, & filmiholic, one word for you : Govinda. I trust you know what to do!

Just in time for Halloween!

 24 · CinamonRani on October 28, 2006 10:44 AM · Direct link · “Quote”(?)

I think the bollywood industry would make millions (okay maybe hundreds) of dollars if they sell these costumes to the American public, as costumes for Halloween. Come on, eBay is itching for it!!! The problem would be, which one do you pick.... all costumes come with your choice of fake blood or glycerinÂ…
