The Unsinkable Monty BrownPhotos

monty.jpg

Like Tori and some rather old rodents (oh, like any of you are old enough to remember them), “I don’t like Mondays”. I thought you might feel similarly about today; if so, then perhaps you, too, will find this picture irresistibly smile-provoking. Marinate in the exuberance:

England’s Monty Panesar (R) celebrates with Ian Bell after dismissing the West Indies’ Corey Collymore during the fourth day of their first test cricket match at Lord’s in London May 20, 2007.

Now if you wanted to play our favorite caption game with this photograph, I don’t think anyone would object to such fun. And finally, to all the patient-with-a-novice, possibly-in-withdrawal cricket heads out in Sepia-land…I told you I was no fair-weather-padawan. :)

Indian's conducting trial runs of the new invisible flying carpet. This will replace the aging flying carpet.

Perfect segue to observe: You're the only 'anna' I know who is also an 'akka', anna akka :)

'Anna' and 'Akka' in some South Indian languages, are palindromic gender opposites, just like 'Mom' and 'Dad'

Ah yes, Monty, ye have found yer celebratory form. Think now, though, of the master who wears a shit-eating grin WHILE taking the catch.

learn, monty, learn.

and teach your English mates to be humans on the pitch and not the dour, business-like fence-posts that they are.

I think you'll find that the sense of perspective has deceived everyone with this photo. Monty is not actually leaping towards the other figure, but is about to walk behind him. You see, Mudhsuden is shown falling into (and extricating himself from) a classic desi trap; I like to call it the "relative reassignment". In this case, Monty has been out walking. He has crossed the path of someone he assumes is a cricket-playing relative (possibly a very distant uncle, but he can't be sure). As he comes closer to the target, he becomes more certain that he has bumped into this figure at various family gatherings (he seems to remember his 18th birthday and a box of chocolates; possibly some bad dancing and a blue 1970s Mercedes). It is only once he comes into closer range that he realises that the "uncle" is an absolute stranger. By this stage, it is usually too late; you can't do the simple "head bob of recognition" (copyright pending) and have to go for the full hug. However, what Monty has subtly done is reassign the gesture of recognition to a fictional relative way in the distance over the "uncle"'s shoulder. With wonderful sang-froid, Monty has carried on walking ("Oh hi, Ranjit Chacha..."); leaving the "uncle" hugging the air. Like an idiot.

Monty Brown????

There a former NFL player in the 90's who name was Monty Brown who played for Buffalo and New England. He was wrestler where he used his real name for a few years until this year when he went to the WWE and changed his name to Marcus Von Cor.

Red snapper, if he can reach those heights (literally) as a fielder, then he would go beyond hero, to king or even better SUPERMAN!!!
