We wuz robbed!Beauty

In response to Abhi’s appeal from last year, there was a desi entrant in this year’s World Beard & Moustache Championships. Meet 30 year old Rundeep Singh, from the UK.

Can you believe Rundeep lost to Jack Passion (on the right) who took first place in the “natural beard” category? C’mon now - which is the better beard? What an outrageous call!

Heck, Rundeep Singh didn’t even place - this guy got second (for what is admittedly a very impressive beard) but this guy got third place. I dunno - neither the first nor third place winners seem as impressive to me as brother Rundeep.

What gives? Next time I want to see a desi who wins by more than a whisker .

don't worry. last year the uk beard liberation front preferred monty panesar to even fidel castro for beard of the year :)

i notice you also put this under the sports category. so chess is not a sport and golf is barely one, but comparing beards is? :)

Cool name. If I were him, I would seriously consider becoming an MC.

Was it a prerequisite to look vaguely LoTR-esque in the competition (more in the style of hobbits, although with bears)? That may explain it :)

Sorry to be Off-topic,
But today there was a India-Pakistan WORLD CUP Final match. I just heard India won the match.
What about a blog entry on that

I was thinking they looked dwarvish...

Good thing I didn't read this, it would have put me off my happy "Harbhajan Singh/Caption This" post. :p

Please allow me to explain-- the whole "why don't you write _____ because _____?"-bit grates like nails on a chalkboard. NB: I'm not talking about our News Tab or the tip line, both of which I am grateful for (and mine regularly for posts!). I'm only referring to random, necessarily off-topic comments. We know India won-- the news tab and our inboxes told us so. Repeatedly.

Can you tell someone shouldn't have had that fourth espresso shot? ;) Maybe once I stop vibrating and twitching, I'll be more tolerant of relatively harmless suggestions. Thank you in advance for not hating me anymore than you already do. :D

I had no idea this was a competition sport. That's... kind of awesome.

I thought that cat on the right was Rick Rubin

Why are we all splitting hairs over whether this is a sport or not? :-)

Sigh. This is a sad time in South Asian history...

And neither of the bearded guys from ZZTop didn't make it in the finals??

Isn't Jack Passion's beard more voluminous than the others? Sure other guys have longer ones but his is the densest. :)

Is facial hair big in Germany? Most of the competitors seemed to be German.

I dig the khuli darhi (open beard). But the other dude (though his beard is nice) looks like he's trying to be comical-ish. Rundeep Singh actually looks hot.

honestly, i don't think Sikhs should be allowed to participate in this competition anyways, for the same reason that professional models are not allowed to participate in beauty pagaents. unfair advantage.

But just because they have *beards* it doesn't mean that they're all qualified to compete... Should Amish men be out of the running as well?
