BTW - can broadcast networks do drama anymore? There seems to be a split - you have procedural shows like CSI and Law & Order, or soapy female-oriented shows like Desperate Housewives and The Good Wife. Friday Night Lights has its moments in chronicling small town life, but even it hams it up with a tiresome teenage love triangle. To be fair, I am only in Season 1. Meanwhile, even basic cable offers up top notch drama like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Riches, and Damages.

Well, my Punjabi wife is named Archna, and she goes by "Archie" for short, so I'm going to guess that yes, it's short for Arch(a)na.

Caution! Those questions "What kind of name is X for a desi?", and "What kind of desi has a name like X?" are tiresome old chestnuts. Though this particular instance sounds more curious than judgmental, it can nevertheless be a very dubious question at times.

Anyways, I THOUGHT I saw Archie on a preview for this show tonight! I saw the commercial out of the corner of my eye and made a mental note to IMDB it later on...looks like you did my work for me! I wasn't remotely interested in it but I'll watch it just for her.
